SUMMARY

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

This article describes how to export the results of a query to an ASCII text file using the TransferText macro action.

MORE INFORMATION

The TransferText macro action does not specify that you can use query names in the TableName argument of the action. The argument does not use a drop- down list with table name choices; therefore, you are not limited to using table names. By using the name of a query in the TableName argument of a TransferText action, you can export the results of a query to text files. This feature is undocumented in Microsoft Access 2.0, but is documented in the Microsoft Access 7.0 and 97 Help Indexes.
