ACC: Unwanted Record Separator Appears at Bottom of Subform

Last reviewed: May 28, 1997
Article ID: Q96583
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 7.0, 97

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

In a subform control on a main form, the bottom border of the subform appears to be painted even when the subform's Border property is set to Clear.

CAUSE

In actuality, what appears to be a border may be a record separator.

RESOLUTION

Open the main form in Design view and select the subform control. On the Format menu, point to Size and click To Fit (or click Size to Fit on the Layout menu in version 1.x).

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the main form in Design view.

  2. Select the subform control.

  3. In Microsoft Access 7.0 and 97, click the Border Color icon on the Formatting toolbar, and then click Transparent.

In Microsoft Access 1.x and 2.0, click Palette on the View menu, and then click the Clear button next to Border Color.

  4. If the record separator is lined up with the very bottom of the subform, it can appear as if the subform still has a bottom border.
