ACC1x: GPF on Update Query Due to Query Design OptionLast reviewed: May 14, 1997Article ID: Q97004 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSUpdate queries do not work correctly if you use the Options command on the View menu to set the Query Design option, Restrict Available Fields, to No (the default is Yes). In most cases, Microsoft Access causes a general protection (GP) fault; however, there have been isolated cases where the query completed and incorrectly updated the wrong columns in the table.
RESOLUTIONSet Restrict Available Fields to No on a query-by-query basis by clearing the Restrict Available Fields check box on the Query Properties dialog box instead of using the Options/View menu method to set this option on a global basis.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version 1.0. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Access version 1.1. |
