The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn ADO 1.0 running with a double byte character set on a double byte character set platform, GetChunk returns the length of data in bytes, rather than characters.
RESOLUTIONThis has been fixed with a QFE for the Msado10.dll. This QFE is available for download from the ADO Web page located at:
http://www.microsoft.com/data/ado/The correct version of Msado10.dll that fixes this problem version is version 1.01.31.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This bug has been corrected with a QFE for ActiveX Data Objects 1.0.
