The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Commerce Server, version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you install Commerce Server, you may receive one of the following error messages:

  • "Cannot expand templates"

        and under details: "Exception occurred"

  • During the portion of setup that populates the starter stores (SQL Server) database:

"Cannot populate Database Tables" and under details: "No current record"

WORKAROUND

These error messages occur due to an Active Server Pages (ASP) installation problem. Make sure that you have ASP installed. If you continue to have problems with your existing ASP installation, Reinstall ASP from the Commerce Server CD or from Windows NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 3.
