IAB Internet Architecture Board

     The IAB creates rules or standards for the Internet community, If
     a new standard is needed, the IAB chooses and adopts the standard,
     then announces it to the Internet community.

ISO/OSI (International Standards Organization/Open System Interconnect)

     ISO/OSI protocol standards are used on the Internet. U.S. government
     computers should be able to use these protocols and are encouraged to
     do so. Presently IP is the most widely used protocol on the Internet.

     NSI (Network Solutions, Inc.)

     Provides registration services such as assigning Internet addresses.
     NOTE: in most cases business and individuals would connect to a local
     provider. You can get a list of providers by calling InterNIC
     Information Services. You can contact NSI with the above 800 number
     and choose 3 from the phone menu to acquire Internet addresses.
