Last reviewed: September 9, 1996
Article ID: Q126263
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft TCP/IP-32 for Windows for Workgroups, version 3.11a
  • Microsoft Windows for Workgroups version 3.11

The LMHOSTS file maps IP addresses to the NetBIOS names of remote servers that are accessible through TCP/IP. Entries specified with the #PRE keyword are cached at initialization. When you use TCP/IP-32 for Windows for Workgroups version 3.11, the maximum number allowed for #PRE entries is hard-coded for 100 entries.
