The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSOn your computer running Windows 95, when you run NETADMIN.EXE that ships with Microsoft LAN Manager version 2.2, the following error message appears:
LAN Manager Your workstation is set up for an older version of LAN Manager. For full compatibility, please upgrade by running LAN Manager's setup. Microsoft LAN Manager driver cannot be loaded. CAUSENETADMIN.EXE does not recognize Windows 95 as a valid network operating system.
RESOLUTIONTo workaround this problem, run NETADMIN.EXE from a computer running Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11, or Windows NT.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in LAN Manager 2.2 NETADMIN.EXE. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
