SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel, when you use the Copy Picture command to copy a cell that has an Automatic color border applied, and you choose the As Shown When Printed Appearance option, the pasted cell has a broken or dashed border, and does not display in color.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs when your Window Text color in Microsoft Windows is a light color, such as Cyan. This behavior does not occur when you format a cell with a light color border.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, do either of the following:
- Use a PostScript printer driver. -or-
- Format the cell border for a color other than Automatic.
-or-
- Change your Window Text color in Windows to a darker color, such as Blue. NOTE: The dashed border problem does not occur in Microsoft Excel versions 5.0 and 7.0, although the pasted object in this case still does not appear in color.
