  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you open a file that was created in SuperCalc 5, the cells on the worksheet are not visible.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs in Microsoft Excel because the worksheet columns are hidden or saved with a column width of zero when you save a file to the Lotus WK1 file format in SuperCalc 5.

WORKAROUND

When you open a file in Microsoft Excel that was created in SuperCalc 5, do the following to display cells on the worksheet:

  1. Select the entire Worksheet by choosing the Select All button (above the row number 1) or CTRL+A.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Column, and then choose Unhide.

To display gridlines in the file, do the following:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.

  2. Select the View tab, and under Window Options, select the Gridlines check box. Choose OK.
