WORKAROUNDIf you press ESC and shutdown is not canceled, you must click a button with your pointer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONNew features have been added to Apple Macintosh System versions 7.5.1 and later. A dialog box with the following message appears:
Are you sure you want to shut down?Your options are to click Restart, Cancel, or Shut down. To cancel shutdown, click Cancel or press ESC.
