32-Bit ODBC Drivers in 16-Bit Windows Cause "Cannot find file"

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to run the Setup program for any of the 32-bit applications, you may receive the following error message:

   ODBCSTP.EXE
   Cannot find file.
   Check to ensure the path and filename are correct.

CAUSE

You will receive this error message if your operating system is a 16-bit version of Microsoft Windows, and you attempt to run the Setup program for the (32-bit) applications listed at the beginning of this article.

Note that 32-bit products are not intended for use on a 16-bit operating system.

RESOLUTION

If your operating system is a 16-bit version of Microsoft Windows, install the 16-bit version of the product.
