The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel version 7.0, when you attempt to sort a list in a shared workbook, entire rows or columns of data are selected and sorted; that is, the selection that is sorted is not limited to the range that contains the list.
CAUSEIn shared workbooks, data is sorted by whole rows or whole columns.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use the following steps to sort the list:
