SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, if you use the Move Or Copy Sheet command on the Edit menu to copy a worksheet that contains a data map, you receive the following error message:

An error has occurred while opening a Microsoft Excel workbook.

After you click OK, a copy of the worksheet is created. The data exists in the copied worksheet, but the map container does not reflect the data that you mapped in the original sheet.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed above. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

You can use the Move Or Copy Sheet command on the Edit menu to move a worksheet containing a map. The message results only when you create a copy of the worksheet.
