SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0 and Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows, contain a filter to open Quattro Pro for Windows, version 5.0 (WB1), files. However, objects such as drawing objects, OLE objects, and most commonly, Chart objects, contained in the .WB1 file fail to be converted and will not display. NOTE: Files created in Quattro Pro for Windows, version 6.0, and saved in the .WB1 format (instead of the Quattro Pro 6.0 file format of .WB2) behave the same way.

MORE INFORMATIONThe file filter for Quattro Pro for Windows files (.WB1) opens the files read-only. The files open read-only because the filter allows Microsoft Excel to read the file format, but does not allow Microsoft Excel to save in that format (.WB1).
