SYMPTOMSWhen you close Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x while a Microsoft Excel workbook is open, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.If you click Details, you receive one of the following error messages:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module VBA332.DLL at 014f:651b5ef6. -or- EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module USER32.DLL at 014f:bff64e46. -or- EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 014f:bff780a4. CAUSEThis problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
RESOLUTIONTo prevent this problem from occurring, close any visible dialog boxes in the Visual Basic Editor before you switch back to Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
