XL97: Undo After Clearing OLE Object Turns Object into a Picture

SYMPTOMS

When you work with an OLE object that is inserted in a workbook in Microsoft Excel, the object becomes a picture.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following both of the following conditions are true:

  • You are working with an OLE object in a Microsoft Excel workbook.

    -and-

  • You delete the OLE object.

    -and-

  • you click Undo on the Edit menu to restore the object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
