SUMMARY

This article explains how to change the chart depth of a 3-D surface chart in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

To change the chart depth of most 3-D charts in Microsoft Excel, click to select a data series in the chart and click Selected Data Series on the Format menu. In the Format Data Series dialog box, click the Option tab. You can then change the chart depth by clicking the arrow. However, in a 3-D surface chart, you cannot select data series; therefore, you must perform this operation differently. To change the chart depth of a 3-D surface chart, do the following:

  1. Click an existing 3-D surface chart to select it.

  2. Click any legend key that appears inside the chart legend to select it.

  3. On the Format menu, click Selected Legend Key.

The Format Legend Key dialog box appears.

  4. In the Format Legend Key dialog box, click the Options tab. Click the arrow to change the chart depth.
