SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 97, if you click the Camera button, and then press ENTER, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at 0137:300da09c. CAUSEThis problem may occur if you press ENTER immediately after clicking the Camera button for the first time in the current session of Microsoft Excel 97.
WORKAROUNDTo prevent this problem from occurring, do not press ENTER immediately after clicking the Camera button. Instead, click the worksheet and allow Microsoft Excel 97 to create the picture. After Microsoft Excel creates the picture, you can move it to a different location.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONIn Microsoft Excel, you can click the Camera button to take a picture of a range of cells. This picture remains linked to the original range of cells you selected. If the original cells are changed, the picture is automatically updated. To display the Camera button in Microsoft Excel 97, do the following:
In earlier versions of Microsoft Excel, if you press ENTER immediately after clicking the Camera button, you do not receive an error message.
