XL97: Scrolling in Chart Causes Text Boxes to Disappear

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 97, when you scroll in a chart that contains text boxes, you may notice that the scrolling is slow and that the screen may redraw occasionally. After the screen redraws, you may notice that some of the text boxes are missing.

WORKAROUND

To get all of the text boxes on the chart to reappear, cancel the selection of the chart, and then select it again. To cancel the selection, click once outside of the chart onto the worksheet, and to select the chart again, click once on the chart.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
