SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 97, if you point to Send To on the File menu, and then click Mail Recipient, you may receive the following error messages:
Microsoft Exchange <no error message -- dialog box is empty except for exclamation point icon> -and/or- Microsoft Excel General mail failure. Quit Microsoft Excel, restart the mail system, and try again. CAUSEThis problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, set up an offline folder file. To do this, use the following steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThis problem occurs only if you do not set up an offline folder file on your computer. This is a necessary step if you are running Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook 97 and you want to run mail offline.
