The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 97, when you open a Microsoft Excel workbook that contains a chart, data labels may be moved from the location in which you positioned them when you last saved the file.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThis behavior does not occur for all charts or charts types. For example, the behavior does not always occur when you use a line chart. The chart may be moved only slightly when you use a pie chart. However, when you use a stacked column chart, the chart may be completely repositioned. Note that in some cases labels may disappear.
