SYMPTOMSIf you copy a worksheet in Microsoft Excel 97 with the Move or Copy command, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to either of the following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at 0137:302d6c38. -or- EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:7c651f00. CAUSEThis problem occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Remove the Password from the Workbook
Method 2: Remove the Chart Before CopyingRemove the chart from the worksheet before you copy it. Once you have copied the worksheet, re-create the chart on each worksheet.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
