SYMPTOMSWhen you open a file in Microsoft Excel, error messages similar to the following may appear.
Microsoft Windows 95
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Excel caused an invalid page fault in module Excel.exe at 0137:3046dff3. Microsoft Windows NT
Dr. Watson for Windows NT An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated. Excel.exe Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address 0x3046f230.After you receive the error message, you cannot open the file.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
