The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you create multilevel subtotals for data, the totals appear in the incorrect order (staggered incorrectly) and may exclude grand totals for some functions.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when you do the following:
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, click to select the Summary Below Data check box in the Subtotal dialog box. If you are using a Visual Basic macro to create your subtotals, set the optional SummaryBelowData argument to True or use the xlSummaryBelow constant. The following macro gives an example of this argument:
Selection.Subtotal GroupBy:=1, Function:=xlSum, TotalList:=Array(3), _ Replace:=False, PageBreaks:=False, SummaryBelowData:=xlSummaryBelow STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
