XL98: Worksheet Menu Bar Appears Twice When Customizing MenusLast reviewed: February 2, 1998Article ID: Q175896 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you view the Customize dialog box (click Customize on the Tools menu), the Worksheet Menu Bar check box is not selected. When you click to select the check box, the Worksheet Menu Bar appears twice: once as a dimmed menu bar at the top of the screen and again as a menu bar immediately below the first one. When you close the Customize dialog box, the second menu bar disappears.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when you attempt to modify or customize the built-in worksheet menu bar.
WORKAROUNDTo customize the main menu bar, display the Worksheet Menu Bar from the Customize dialog box. After you make changes to the Worksheet Menu Bar and close the Customize dialog box, Microsoft Excel updates the main menu bar.
STATUSThis behavior is by design of Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
MORE INFORMATIONThe built-in worksheet menu bar is not available when you enter the Customize dialog box. This behavior is by design because the main worksheet menu bar is also part of the Macintosh operating system menu bar.
REFERENCESFor more information about customizing menu bars, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel Help, type the following text
