SYMPTOMSThe Fill Values command on the worksheet cell shortcut menu fills series instead of values.
CAUSEWhen the active cell contains merged cells formatting and you hold down the CONTROL key and click the cell to access the Fill Values command on the shortcut menu, Microsoft Excel fills series instead.
WORKAROUNDTo fill values when your data contains a merged cell, do not use the CONTROL and mouse-click method to fill values. Instead, do the following:
