SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, if you click the Chart Objects list on the Chart toolbar, the list displays only the first 200 series in the active chart even if the chart contains more than 200 series.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs because of a limitation of the Chart Objects list in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
WORKAROUNDYou can select series beyond the 200th series by following these steps:
If you select the Chart Area, and then press the DOWN ARROW key, you can cycle through the series in reverse order (255, 254, 253, and so on).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONIn Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, a chart may contain a maximum of 255 series. When a chart contains many series, it may sometimes be difficult to select a single series in the chart. You can use the Chart Objects list on the Chart toolbar to select a particular item (a series, a legend, an axis, and so on) in a chart. However, because of a limitation of the list, the list can display only the first 200 series in a chart.
