SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, if you click Object on the Insert menu, and then click From File, some files are not listed in the Create From File list.
CAUSEThis problem occurs if the attributes for the file have been set to read- only (locked) or hidden (invisible).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, clear the read-only (locked) or hidden (invisible) attribute for the file. To do this, follow these steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
