XL98: Callout Adjustment Handle Disappears When It Is MovedLast reviewed: March 3, 1998Article ID: Q181959 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel 98, you can move the yellow adjustment handles for a callout to adjust the location and size of the callout. However, if a callout has three or more adjustment handles, and you move the adjustment handles, one of the handles disappears.
CAUSEThis problem may occur when you move one of the adjustment handles so that it is on top of another handle for the same callout. When this occurs, the handle that is beneath the other handle becomes unusable and may not be visible.
WORKAROUNDWhen this problem occurs, there is no way to recover the handle. If you want to use the additional yellow adjustment handle to size or position the callout line, recreate the callout.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThe AutoShapes menu on the Drawing toolbar is a new feature in Microsoft Excel 98. The AutoShapes that are available include basic shapes like rectangles and circles, a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart symbols, banners, and callouts. To insert an AutoShape, click AutoShape on the Drawing toolbar.
