Excel: Header or Footer Overwrites Worksheet InformationLast reviewed: November 2, 1994Article ID: Q25483 |
SUMMARYWhen you are printing on legal sized paper to an Apple LaserWriter, the margins must be set to at least 0.9 inches. Headers and footers may overwrite the worksheet data if extra space is not added to the margin settings to allow for the space that they will take up. The LaserWriter does not print text that is placed .5 inch from the top or bottom of a legal sized page. By default, Excel places the header or footer .5 inch from the top or bottom of a document. However, when a legal sized page is chosen in Page Setup, Excel repositions the header or footer to approximately 1 inch from the top or bottom. To prevent the header or footer from printing over the text, increase the top or bottom margin to 1.5 inches.
