Excel: Changing Font Style and Size of X-Y Axis Text

SUMMARY

In a Microsoft Excel chart, to make the text labels along an axis a different font, a different size, or a different style, do the following:

  1. Select the axis you want to format by clicking on it. An axis is selected if there are white filled circles at each end of the axis.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Font. (In Excel version 1.50, choose Text from the Format menu.) Set the font, font size, and style. Click OK.

To change the font for the entire chart:

  1. From the Chart menu, choose Select Chart.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Font. (In Excel version 1.50, choose Text from the Format menu.) Set the font, font size, and style. Click OK.
