Excel: Copying Formula Without Relative References Changing

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, to copy a formula from one cell to another without having the relative references change, do the following:

  1. Click the cell with the existing formula.

  2. Click the formula bar and select the entire formula.

  3. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

  4. Click the cancel box (the "x" in the formula bar).

  5. Select the destination cell and choose Paste from the Edit menu.
