SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel versions 1.00, 1.03, 1.04, and 1.06, to create vertical text in a chart (for example, on the value (y) axis), type each character of the label on a line by itself, pressing RETURN between each letter and ENTER after the last letter. For example, to attach a vertical label of "YEARS," type the following:
