Excel 1.50: Dialog Box Remains on Screen When RETURN Pressed

SUMMARY

If you create a custom dialog box in Microsoft Excel version 1.50 and do not include either a Cancel or an OK button, pressing the RETURN key will not remove the dialog box from the screen. To remove such a dialog box, press COMMAND+PERIOD.

COMMAND+PERIOD is equivalent to clicking a Cancel button; no information will be retained from the dialog box and FALSE is returned by the DIALOG.BOX() command.

For a custom dialog box to return information back to the macro sheet, an OK button must be included.

MORE INFORMATION

This is not true in Excel version 2.20. Excel 2.20 will close the dialog box if RETURN is pressed and will respond as if an OK button were clicked.
