Excel: Cell Contents Not Displayed in Color Chosen Under Font

SUMMARY

If a cell is not being displayed in the color indicated with the Font command, check to see if there is a number format causing it to display differently.

If a cell is formatted in Microsoft Excel version 2.20 to be a certain color by choosing Font from the Format menu, and a different color formatting is applied to it as a number format, the color imposed by the number format takes precedence over the color indicated by the Font command.

For more information on number formatting, see "Format Number Command" on pages 303-308 in the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.2 manual. For more information on font formats, see "Format Font Command" on pages 296-299 in the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.2 manual.
