SEND.KEYS() Function Doesn't Work on Toggle Switch

Last reviewed: October 31, 1994
Article ID: Q42299
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0

SUMMARY

The SEND.KEYS macro function does not work correctly with the Microsoft Excel versions listed above if you are trying to turn on or turn off toggle switches (CAPS LOCK or NUM LOCK). Attempts to toggle these switches either cause the switch's light to flash briefly or cause Excel to lock in a loop that continually tries to toggle the key until the key buffer is filled.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
