How to Select a Chart Series that Is Invisible in ExcelLast reviewed: October 31, 1994Article ID: Q45071 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYTo select an invisible series in a chart and make it visible, select one of the other series by clicking the mouse on a data point or by pressing the LEFT ARROW key and then using the DOWN ARROW key to slowly go through the cycle of selectable objects. The white square boxes that show a selected item will move to the area where the invisible series is. You can also verify that the correct series is selected by viewing the contents of the Reference Area in the upper left corner of the Microsoft Excel window. You can now choose Patterns from the Format menu and change the series' visibility. The chart must be unprotected or the Patterns command will be unavailable (dimmed). If you accidentally hide a series and it is the only action performed, you may use Undo from the Edit menu and select Format Series. You may also choose Autoformat from the Format menu and redo your chart.
