Excel: FILES() Function Returns Files in FAT Order

SUMMARY

The Excel FILES() command does not sort files by date, alphabetically, or by file size. It sorts based on the way files are listed in the file allocation table (FAT). An identical list can be obtained by executing a DOS-level directory listing of the same directory.
