Excel: Clicking Successive Cells Inserts + Signs

SUMMARY

The following paragraph on page 2 of the "Microsoft Excel Quick Reference Guide" for version 2.2 is incorrect:

   In version 1.5, if you enter an equal sign and then click on
   two cells, for example, B1 and B2, Microsoft Excel assumes you
   want to add the cells and displays =B1+B2 in the formula bar.
   In version 2.2, if you type an equal sign and then click B1
   followed by B2, Microsoft Excel assumes you want to replace B1
   with B2 and displays =B2. To add two or more cell references,
   you must type a plus sign between them.

The correct information is that Excel 2.20 adds cells in the same manner as 1.50. For example, if you type an equal sign and then click B1 and then B2, Excel displays =B1+B2 in the formula bar.

This error was corrected in later versions of the "Microsoft Excel Quick Reference Guide" for version 2.2.
