Excel: Keyboard Select Current Region Doesn't Work on Mac PlusLast reviewed: November 2, 1994Article ID: Q58227 |
SUMMARYPage 425 in the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.2 manual states that COMMAND+* (ASTERISK) performs a Formula Select Special to select the current region. This does not work with a standard Macintosh Plus keyboard because of the way the keyboard is mapped. Because the Macintosh Plus does not support as many key combinations as are available on the Macintosh Plus keyboard, Apple has mapped certain keys on the numeric keypad, including the * key, to the equivalent of the shifted arrow (cursor) keys. Thus, Excel cannot distinguish between the two and does not execute the keyboard Select Special. This key combination does work on a Macintosh SE or later.
