Excel: Setting Noncontiguous Area as Print TitlesLast reviewed: November 7, 1994Article ID: Q60479 |
SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel, you can set both a row and a column print title (so there is both a horizontal and a vertical title for each printed page) by using a noncontiguous selection, as follows:
MORE INFORMATIONIf you hold down the COMMAND key while selecting the first range, the error "Print Title is invalid" will be returned. This is because Excel will include the current active cell as part of the print title. Print titles cannot be single cells, only entire rows and columns. Only one noncontiguous range can be set at a time as print titles in Excel. For example, if you select column A, hold down the COMMAND key and select row 1, then hold down the COMMAND key and select column B, the error "Select entire rows and/or columns before choosing Options Set Print Titles" will appear. In versions of Excel prior to version 3.00, the error "Print Title is invalid" will be returned.
