Excel: Dialog Box Incorrect When Created Using Dialog EditorLast reviewed: November 2, 1994Article ID: Q61839 |
SUMMARYWhen a quotation mark is used to begin a text entry in a custom dialog box created with the Dialog Editor and a second quotation mark does not complete that text entry, the dialog box may not appear correctly in Microsoft Excel. This problem occurs because Excel delimits cells with tabs except when a field is surrounded by quotation marks. If the text field begins with a quotation mark, Excel will search for a closing quotation mark before parsing to the next cell. To correct this problem, remove the opening quotation mark from the text field before pasting the custom dialog box into Excel. Once the data is in Excel, add the quotation mark to the text field in the dialog box definition table.
