Run-Time Windows Files Not Deleted by Excel 3.00 SetupLast reviewed: November 2, 1994Article ID: Q68916 |
SUMMARYIf Excel 3.00 has been installed in the same directory as an earlier version of Excel with run-time Windows (a directory other than the Windows 3.00 directory), some run-time Windows files will still be present and can cause problems. The following files will need to be deleted from the EXCEL directory: CLIPBRD.EXE CONTROL.EXE SPOOLER.EXE MEMSET.EXE *.FON, EXCEPT for PREV.FON *.DRV *.TXT, EXCEPT for README.TXT WIN*.* Note: An asterisk wildcard here represents all files with the corresponding extension or in the case of WIN*.*, all files with the first three characters WIN. For more information on wildcard characters, consult your DOS manual. If Excel 3.00 and Windows 3.00 have been installed and a third directory containing Excel 2.1x with run-time Windows still exists, all files except your data files may be deleted by deleting all those listed above in addition to those listed below. Finally, if you want to remove Excel 2.1x from the Windows 3.00 directory, delete the following:
EXCEL.EXE EXCELDE.EXE TRANS.EXE EXCELHLP.HLP XLSETUP.EXE TRANS123.XLM TRANSMP.XLM WEST.XLS EAST.XLS ANNUAL.XLS The EXCELCBT subdirectory The LIBRARY subdirectory |
