Vertical Bars Appear in Print Preview Using the Plotter Driver

SUMMARY

When you preview a worksheet or macro sheet in Excel 3.00, you can display the handles that show the column widths and margins. You display the column and margin handles by using the Margins button at the top of the window. You can change the column width and margins by dragging the column handles. However, the Print Preview command displays black vertical lines as you drag the column or margin handles when using the HP plotter driver version 2.2. Once you release your mouse, the black vertical lines go away and everything will look and print correctly.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Install the HP plotter driver through the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Type text in cells.

  3. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup.

  4. Select HP Plotter.

  5. From the File menu, choose Print Preview.

  6. Choose the Margins Button.

  7. Select one of the margin or column width handles and drag across the page with the mouse. Vertical lines appear on the screen.

  8. Release the mouse button and the black vertical lines disappear.
