No Servers Listed in SQL Logon Screen in Q+ELast reviewed: November 2, 1994Article ID: Q74778 |
SUMMARYWhen you log on to an SQL server in Q+E for Windows, the Servers list box may be blank. Even with more than one SQL server available, the list box will remain empty. (To access the dialog box that contains the Servers list box, choose Logon from the File menu and select SQLServer as the source. The resulting dialog box will display the Server name, the Logon ID, the Password, and the Servers list box options.)
MORE INFORMATION
WorkaroundTo generate a list of servers in the Servers box when you are logging on to an SQL Server, add the following line to the [QESS] section of the WIN.INI file
Servers=server1,server2,server3where server1, server2, and server3 are your server names. You can have as many servers listed as you want. If your setup disks and QE.EXE file are dated 6/12/91 or later, the Q+E default options are stored in the QE.INI file, not the WIN.INI file. The settings are identical to those in the WIN.INI file and the workaround above will work. Under OS/2 there is not a workaround. The various ".INI" files in OS/2 are binary. We do not recommend and cannot support modifying these files under OS/2.
