SUMMARYThe maximum number of adjustable cells and constraints that a Solver model can use are listed in the following table.
Microsoft Excel Adjustable cells Constraints version --------------------------------------------------- 3.x 200 299 4.x 200 500 5.0 200 500 7.0 200 500 97 200 unlimited/500* 98 200 unlimited/500** If you are working with a linear problem, the maximum number of constraints you can use is unlimited. If you are working with a nonlinear problem, the maximum number of constraints you can use is 500. MORE INFORMATIONTo determine whether a solver problem is linear or nonlinear, click Options in the Solver dialog box. If the Assume Linear Model check box is selected, the problem is linear.
