Summary: In Microsoft Excel, if you press the TAB key while you are entering text in a text box, you will select the next object in the drawing layer. More Information: In the drawing layer, pressing the TAB key selects the next object. To use a tab in a text box you must hold down the CTRL key while you press the TAB key. Note: In version 3.0 of Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh pressing CTRL+TAB will only add one wide space. In versions 3.0 and 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for Windows and version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, pressing CTRL+TAB moves to the next tab stop; pressing TAB alone selects the next object. For information about entering carriage returns and tabs in cell entries and formulas see page 231 of the version 4.0 "Microsoft Excel User's Guide 1."
