SUMMARYThe information in this article applies to: - Excel for Windows version 3.0 - Excel for OS/2 version 3.0 The "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" for version 3.0 states on page 144 that you cannot use the File Delete command to delete an Excel document that has been protected or write reserved with the File Save As command. This is incorrect. Both protected and unprotected Excel files can be deleted.
MORE INFORMATIONIf the password-protected file has been deleted, it is possible that it can be retrieved by a third-party file recovery utility. Otherwise, the file will have to be re-created.
