Excel Docerr: SUBSCRIBER() Formula Example Incorrect

Last reviewed: November 3, 1994
Article ID: Q76574
Summary:

The "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" version 3.0 manual incorrectly states on page 318 that

   When you select a subscriber, either by clicking a subscribed picture
   or by selecting a cell in a subscriber, the formula bar displays the
   following formula:

   {SUBSCRIBER(editionname)}

The formula in this example and in the second example on page 318 should each have an equal sign added to the beginning of the function so that it reads

   {=SUBSCRIBER(editionname)}

in the first example and

   {=SUBSCRIBER("Harddisk:Word:Sales Report")}

in the second example.
